Zygomatic implants
This is a technique for patients with severe and extreme resorption of the upper jaw who wear full dentures, or with badly damaged teeth and little bone remaining, or patients where other surgical techniques have already failed. It is possible to regain fixed teeth in the upper jaw.
Our patient came to our consultation with a very complex clinical picture in terms of general pathophysiology, as well as very resorbed jaws.
In addition to the complexity of placing implants in such resorbed bones, we had to join forces with a number of other medical specialties in order to perform the surgical intervention under general anesthesia and in maximum safety, after several auxiliary diagnostic tests. After the surgery and the healing of the bone and gums, the Oral Rehabilitation Team made the fixed structures that we can see in the photographs of the Clinical Case.
