Zygomatic implants

This is a technique for patients with severe and extreme resorption of the upper jaw who wear full dentures, or with badly damaged teeth and little bone remaining, or patients where other surgical techniques have already failed. It is possible to regain fixed teeth in the upper jaw.

Our patient visited us from Belgium after a series of unsuccessful operations and surgeries on her upper jaw, including a bone graft operation on the left side of her upper jaw. Our intervention was only on the upper jaw, under general anesthesia.

My Oral Surgery and Implantology Team and I carried out a procedure to place conventional implants in the upper jaw and a zygomatic implant on the left side to make up for the absence of jawbone on that side. Our Oral Rehabilitation Team then made the prosthetic structure. Once a year, he travels from Belgium for his maintenance appointment.
